A passionate teacher and researcher with a passion for self-leadership of traumatised youth and women in the community. Have been in residential and distant Higher Education settings for my whole career journey.

My accomplishments

Being up to date with the needs of the community An editor of seven handbooks prescribed in higher education settings. A NRF C2 rated researcher in South Africa with a high standard of expertise in research and academic excellence. A fellow of the Academy Nursing of South Africa (FANSA an international recognised title) and awarded the honour of being on the Hall of Fame as an esteemed researcher. Grants completed in the field of traumatized youth and self-leadership, and professionalism in nursing. Appointed as Honorary Professor of the University of Swansea in Wales and the International University of Management, Namibia with a focus on research collaboration in leadership development. An editorial board member and a professional editor of Health SA Gesondheid, member of the Editorial Board of the Africa Journal of Nursing and Midwifery, and was the professional editor (Africa) of the International Journal of Nursing Management.

Received recognition certificate for contribution in the transformation process of nursing as a member of a previous Council in 2012. Served as a full SA Nursing Council member for 5 years on the law committee and the professional conduct committee. Have presented at numerous International conferences in more than 50 countries. Has more than 100 publications in national and international Journals mostly peer reviewed. Has completed more than 50 master and doctoral students at the Universities of Namibia, Unisa, University of Johannesburg, University of the Western Cape and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
